The Berthoud Historical Society BUILDS COMMUNITY. Volunteers and staff gather, preserve, and share historical information and artifacts with the Berthoud community via our two museums and multiple community events. Our original 1916 McCarty-Fickel Home Museum is a favorite destination for local school tours and PEO Valentine Teas. The Bimson Blacksmith Shop, constructed in 1893, houses the Little Thompson Valley Pioneer Museum and is on the National Register of Historic Places. A destination for the history-loving tourists and locals alike, our Pioneer Courtyard is a community gathering place for Spring Festivals, Summer Concerts, and children’s Summer Camps. Our many events are designed with our community in mind. With us, you can experience historical events with a modern-day interpretation. We re-invented the historic Box Social, offering curbside pickup of a Wayside Inn Fried Chicken Dinner to work within recent social restrictions. Our website now hosts Video Tours of some of our main exhibits.

And now, we invite you to SHARE, CONNECT, AND further BUILD the Berthoud community via our Berthoud Builds Community 2022 Calendar project. As an individual, a non-profit, or a business, YOU have the opportunity to sponsor a month or a day (or several) to commemorate, honor, celebrate, or remember an event, date, person, concept, or institution that is important to you.  Or you can sponsor a Monthly History Corner which shares a fact or event from local history.

Calendar sponsorships are now closed and the calendar is at the printer!

Thank you to all who supported this important project!
