Holiday Art Card Contest

Celebrating the Holiday Spirit Through the Creativity of Berthoud’s Young Artists

The Berthoud Historical Society invites young artists to create a magical winter scene for the 2026 Holiday Card Art Contest. Winning artwork will be printed as this year’s community Christmas card and become part of Berthoud’s historical story.

Artists can start gathering ideas now. The official 2026 contest theme will be announced on July 3, giving young artists plenty of time to plan, create, and submit their best work before the November deadline.

How the Contest Works

1. Create Your Artwork

Use any 2-dimensional medium on 8.5″ x 11″ paper.

2. Complete a Submission Form

Parents or guardians should complete the required form before artwork is submitted.

3. Submit Online or In Person

Upload artwork through the website or drop off the original artwork with a completed form.

Winning Artwork Will Be Celebrated!

Winning artwork will be printed as a holiday card, displayed as an “Artist Spotlight” with a framed card and name plate at the Berthoud Museum until May 1, recognized through BHS communications and local media, and permanently added to the museum collection.

For the second age category, the same winner recognition applies, including card printing, framed display, media recognition, and permanent addition to the museum collection.

6th–8th Grade – Ages 11-15

Artwork Requirements

Artwork must be 8.5″ x 11″
Artwork must be 2-dimensional
Accepted media include acrylic paint, watercolor, colored pencil, markers, pastels, collage, and similar materials
Artwork should follow the announced contest theme
A completed submission form is required
Parent/guardian information should be included where required
Digital submissions may require the original artwork later for museum display and framing
