There was a time when life in the rural communities of Northern Colorado was inextricably linked to animals. Whether it was the draft horse that did the heavy work of pulling farm wagons and implements or day-old lambs that required bottle-feeding by hand, animals of almost every breed were loved like family. The settings captured in this calendar range from front yards and a ‘junior fair” in the town of Berthoud to farms in the community’s rural districts.
Berthoud’s Kids & Critters is a collection of snapshots taken by residents of Berthoud and Little Thompson Valley from the early 1900s through the 1960s.
