Occasionally called avens, geum produces quantities of eye-popping [expander_maker id=”1″ more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]red-orange flowers on tall, wiry stems. This rugged perennial is a snap to grow in almost any sunny location. Geum is also prized for its clumps of low, dark green leaves that add interest and color even when the plants are not in bloom. Geum grows 18 to 24 inches tall and the flowers will attract butterflies to your garden, early summer bloom. The blooms also make good cut flowers.[/expander_maker]
